Install the Wercker CLI

Using Linux?

Step 1

Get the requirements

To use all of the features within the Wercker CLI you will need a working Docker environment. You can install Docker and Docker-Machine using Docker Toolbox.

docker-toolbox

Step 2

Create a Docker machine

After installing docker & docker-machine, you'll need to create a new Virtual Machine that will run docker.

 docker-machine create --driver virtualbox dev

Step 3

Configure a Docker machine

Now that you've created a new VM, you'll need to export some variables to your environment.

Note that you will need to do this every time you start a new shell. Add this line to your profile to circumvent this.

 eval "$(docker-machine env dev)"

Step 4

Brew install Wercker

Finally, now that your environment is set up, you can install Wercker using brew!

Don't have brew? Download it here or install the Wercker CLI manually: curl -L https://s3.amazonaws.com/downloads.wercker.com/ cli/stable/darwin_amd64/wercker -o /usr/local/bin/wercker

brew tap wercker/wercker

brew install wercker-cli

Nicely done, you're ready to start building locally
